Riddle Me Roo!

Results, celebrations, Riddles, Games, Fun Things No Comments »

Congrats!

Great work trying to find the last riddle!

Unfortunately no-one was right but Nat was close!

The riddle was:

A blind man has 4 tablets, two are marked “X” and two are marked “Y”. Each day he has to take one “X” tablet and 1 “Y” tablet. He drops the tablets and he needs to pick them up as it is time to take them. Without taking two of the same type of tablet or asking someone else, how does he accomplish taking one of each tablet?

The answer was:

He simply broke each tablet in half and put one half on his right, and one on his left. After he finished with all of them there ended up to be one “X” tablet and one “Y” tablet on each side. He just had to eat one side and he was done!

I will put a riddle up ASAP (as soon as possible).

WINNERS!

Results, celebrations, Riddles, Games, Fun Things 4 Comments »

Hi everyone!

The riddle has some winners! But first I will show you the riddle and the answer, the riddle was:

Tom and his younger sister were fighting. Their mother was tired of the fighting, and decided to punish them by making them stand on the same piece of newspaper in such a way that they couldn’t touch each other. How did she accomplish this?

The answer is that she slid the newspaper under the door and had the children stand on either side of the door.

I’m glad to say that we have 3 winners! They are:

Nadine and Sokeina. Momtahina told me the answer at school so she wins too!

Congratulations to those people and many other students who tried and were close  :-)

Here is the new riddle:

A blind man has 4 tablets, two are marked “X” and two are marked “Y”. Each day he has to take 1 “X” tablet and 1 “Y” tablet. He drops the tablets and he needs to pick them up as it is time to take them. Without taking 2 of the same type of tablet or asking someone else, how does he accomplish taking one of each tablet? Good Luck! Naomi

Crazy Hat “n” Hair Day!

Fancy Things, celebrations, school events, Performances, Fun Things 4 Comments »

hairLast Thursday our school had a “Crazy Hat “n” Hair Day”. On “Crazy Hat “n” Hair Day” every child is expected to wear a crazy hat, or crazy hair, or both. People wore: hairspray, homemade hats, put their hair in different styles with gel and wore bunny ears. First 7 classes paraded under the cola, and then 10 people’s names were drawn out for the Easter raffle.

After the Easter raffle 8 more classes paraded. We saw many different hats and hair styles. Then a child from each class was elected as the person with the craziest hat or hair, in that class. It was really fun and exciting. Here are some of the people in our class that won the raffle: Momtahina, Lilly, Michael and Katherine.

Samorost Thinking

Samorost, 6 Thinking Hats, celebrations, Projects, Writing, Games, Fun Things 3 Comments »

 Hats

Samorost helped me think and write because it had lots of interesting scenes and environments. These scenes and environments helped me with my descriptive writing because it had so many things similes. It also helped me with my reviews as it was fun and easy to think of good sentences. The 6 thinking hats helped me write too! Here are what the hats stand for.

  1. The yellow hat stands for good and positive points.
  2. The black hat stands for bad and negative points.
  3. The green hat stands for for creative and new ideas.
  4. The red hat stands for feelings and emotions.
  5. The blue hat stands for thinking about what you already know.
  6. The white hat stands for information and facts.

Here is a disgram about the hats. De Bono Hats diagram Put on your thinking hats

ANZAC day!!!

Sad Situations, celebrations, school events, Writing 2 Comments »

Wednesday the 25th of April was Anzac day. Anzac stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corps. On Anzac day we remember the soldiers that fought and maybe died for us in the war. We also have a minute silence were we face the west.

For this celebration we have a public holiday. We usually place flowers on war memorials. Some soldiers died in their boats. There was a rule that you are not allowed to shoot the other side’s strecher carrier.
