Studying natural disasters is what we have been doing for the past few weeks. I chose the topic “tsunamis” and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Here is the question I am investigating about them:
Question: What was the biggest tsunami? And how much damage did it cause?
Answers: On Boxing Day 2004, an undersea earthquake, that was 9.15 on the Richter scale, triggered waves up to 49 feet high. The waves hit coasts of Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka,
India and many other countries. Over 310,000 people were killed and many more injured, from many different countries.
The earthquake was caused by the Indian plate sliding under
Sumatra (part of the Eurasian plate). Water levels in California exceeded 40cm in height, and
New Jersey saw water level fluctuations as great as 34cm. The tsunami wave travelled the globe and was measured in the Pacific and other places, by tide gauges. The tsunami happened exactly 1 year after the 2003 Bam earthquake, and 2 years before the 2006 Hengchun earthquake. This tsunami is known as one of the most deadliest disasters in history.

Here are some questions for you:
Have you ever played soccer?
